Are you doing 'well', but not feeling well?
Listening to one of my favourite podcasts this week, “We Can Do Hard Things” and Glennon Doyle put into words perfectly what I’m hoping to achieve through this platform.
Are you doing ‘well’, but not feeling well.
Are you considered successful by your peers or family?
Are you earning a high income?
Are you rising up a promotional and salary ladder?
But are you also waking up every day tired? Are you running through life from one appointment to the next. Are the things that normally bring you joy feeling like just another thing on the to do list.
Or worse - is your body sore? Are you sick more often than not. Do you feel like you’re constantly getting over different injuries.
If you are doing well but not feeling well - I’ve got to ask. Is this what you really want?
Or have you been working so hard to do well in someone else’s idea of a good life? Perhaps a teacher, family, partner or even your ego? If you are sacrificing your health, your happiness or your family to do so well - is that really what you want?
I’m certainly not imploring you to throw it all away to eat coconuts on a deserted beach somewhere. I don’t believe that is the answer. I truly do believe though that there is a balance, and there are ways that we can do well and feel well.
So if this sounds like something you’d like to explore with me - why don’t you stick around? Let’s see what we can create together.
